ONSTAR VEHICLE DIAGNOSTICS (OVD) OnStar Vehicle Diagnostics is a comprehensive, automatic diagnostics systems check and report service, now available on most new GM vehicles. Once you sign up, OnStar will collect diagnostic information about some of your vehicle's key operating systems like your engine, air bag, antilock brake, electrical and as well as your odometer reading and remaining oil life. After OnStar receives the information, they will send it to you in a simple email report. So you'll know each month that your car is in good driving condition — or if something needs attention right away. You'll also get reminders to make scheduled maintenance appointments and to add more OnStar Hands-Free Calling minutes. DEALER MAINTENANCE NOTIFICATION (DMN) OPT IN PROCESSES Remember, only OVD customers that opt in to DMN can generate leads for Dealerships. The three ways customers can opt into DMN: - OnStar Vehicle Diagnostics Email:
- Click on the “Enroll Now” link in lower right corner of OVD email
- Select Servicing Dealer, click the “Enroll Now” check box, and then save changes
- OnStar.com – Manage Account Page:
- Customer Logs in to their account page
- Click on the Enroll Now button on their Dealer Information page
- Select Servicing Dealer, click the “Enroll Now” check box, and then save changes
- The Service Lane Blue Button Push Requests for DMN Opt in:
- Service Consultant checks VIS for active OnStar Subscription
- Service Consultant asks customer if they are receiving the monthly OnStar Vehicle Diagnostics email from OnStar
- Service Consultant encourages customer to sign-up for Dealer Maintenance Notification
- Customer presses OnStar Blue Button
- Customer must ask to sign-up for Dealer Maintenance Notification
- OnStar Advisor will ask customer for their PIN
- OnStar Advisor will verify the dealer listed on the customer’s account, and will add a preferred servicing dealer if necessary
- OnStar Advisor will opt-in customer
- Customer will receive a confirmation email
